Exam withdrawal due to illness for Bachelor of Science and Master of Science students
If you are not able to attend an exam due to illness and you want to avoid failing your exam (grade 5.0) it is important to submit a written request for approval to withdrawal from the exam.
Furthermore, a medical certificate that contains information on the symptoms of the disease and the resulting inability of participating in the exam has to be submitted to the examination office not later than three days after the exam.
Since the medical findings must relate to the state of health on the day of the exam, a medical certificate can only be considered as valid, if the examination by the doctor took place on the day of the exam at latest.

With the 23rd BAföG Amendment Act of 27.10.2010, the possibility of partial remission of the loan received due to good performance or rapid study was abolished. Pursuant to Section 18b (2) BAföG, partial remission can now only be granted to those recipients who have passed their final examinations by December 31, 2012, provided that the relevant requirements are met.
