Internships abroad

On this page, you will find information on finding an internship abroad, funding opportunities, and how to integrate it into your business studies.

Finding an internship position: The International programs office of the department of economics does not provide internships. However, the following organisations or websites may help you:

• Career Service of the University of Freiburg
• DAAD: German Academic Exchange Service
• German Chambers of Commerce
• Federal Employment Agency 
• KOPRA: Database for internships in Asia

Funding and financing possibilities: Internships are often unpaid or only in a small extent. The following departments offer financial opportunities:

• ERASMUS placements
• PROMOS (scholarship)
• International Office (only travel allowance)
• DAAD (Information on other financing possibilities)

Integration into your economic studies: If your internship takes place during the lecture period, you can take a semester off. Information on conditions, deadlines and the procedure are available here. For further information please refer to the Homepage of ZfS

In the Bachelor of Science degree program, you have the opportunity to take a self-organized internship of at least 4 weeks into account by assigning the ZfS-modul "Praktikum plus" in the BOK-area.
