Study objectives and contents

Broad business education at a high level

The Master's program in BWL (Public and Non-Profit Management) is research-oriented and consecutive. It provides in-depth methodological and technical training in the field of business administration. On the one hand, it focuses on the efficient fulfillment of public tasks by public administration as well as by non-profit or for-profit organizations under private law. On the other hand, emphasis is placed on questions of the management of non-profit organizations and related forms of organization. From the first semester onwards, the master's program offers students the opportunity to set their own individual focus, particularly in the areas of public management, non-profit management, public sector economics and general business administration. Successful completion of the master's program qualifies graduates for professional work in science and research as well as for management positions in business and public administration and in the non-profit sector on a national and international level.

Numerous elective options for individual profile formation

The program consists of three blocks in which 30 ECTS credits must be earned in each block:

3. further elective modules of your choice from the fields of General Business Administration, Public Management, Non-Profit Management, Economics, Business Information Systems, Law, Theology, Quantitative Methods have to be completed.*

A total of at least nine modules with a scope of performance of at least 6 ECTS credits each must be completed; at least one of these must be a seminar.
The modules that can be taken, which generally have a scope of performance of between 4 and 8 ECTS credits, as well as the associated courses are listed and described in more detail in the applicable module handbook.
